About Pooky

We cover seven markets and follow one rule in every one of them: nothing goes live until someone on our side has paid to join, played it out and successfully withdrawn. Whoever tests an untested casino first risks their own bankroll, not yours. There's no rewritten press release and no ranking anyone can buy.

The people behind the reviews

The idea for Pooky came out of frustration with "best casino" lists that were obviously written by someone who had never signed up anywhere on their own page. So we built something different: a small group of experienced players, writers and analysts who stick to the seven markets we actually know well, rather than trying to cover the whole world thinly. We ask the questions any player would ask before committing their own money: is there enough worth playing, do the bonus terms hold up once you read the fine print, does customer support give real answers, and does a withdrawal show up on time?

Alina Sazonova has spent more than a decade building content operations, including six years leading iGaming teams that cover casino and sportsbook reviews, bonus breakdowns and responsible-gambling guidance across five-plus languages. She built Pooky's regional review process from scratch and signs off on every rating published here, backed by a team of local reviewers who handle the hands-on testing in each market. Earlier work across Fintech, IT and digital marketing is part of why this site checks banking and payment terms as closely as it does.

Our review process

Every casino that reaches this site has been through the same four-step check, carried out by a member of our review team on a real account.

Opening an account and funding it

We start by signing up and making a deposit with our own money. This first step already tells us a lot: whether registration is quick or frustrating, and whether the payment method advertised for our market actually works without a hitch.

Playing through the library

From there we spend real time on the games themselves, including slots of different volatility, live-dealer tables and classic table games, to judge whether the catalogue has any real depth, which studios are behind it, and whether it runs smoothly on a phone.

Testing customer support

We contact the support team by chat and by email, asking both simple and awkward questions. A quick reply isn't enough on its own; we also check whether the agent actually addresses what we asked instead of sending a generic script.

Timing a real withdrawal

The last step is always a genuine cash-out request, timed from the moment we submit it to the moment funds are confirmed. A slow payout, or one held up by unexpected document requests, brings the final score down no matter how attractive the bonus was.

How we stay independent

To be transparent: this site runs on affiliate commissions. When you sign up at a casino through a link on this site, the operator may pay us a referral fee, at no cost to you, and that's what keeps the reviews free to read. That income has no influence on rankings: we've turned away operators offering unusually high commissions, and any casino already listed gets removed the moment its payouts, terms, fairness or support start to slip. If a casino lets us down, we say so publicly.

18+ only

This site is written for adults aged 18 and over only. Gambling should stay a form of paid entertainment, never a way to make money. If it stops being enjoyable, step away and reach out for support. Our Responsible Gambling page lists free, confidential help lines available in every market we cover.
